Philip J. Layfield, Trial Attorney

Mr. Layfield has been at the center of multi-million litigation since the beginning of his career in 1999. As a skilled trial attorney, Mr. Layfield has litigated matters in all courts in the State of California and in 2011 and 2012 has litigated matters in The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, The Third District Court in Utah, and The United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Mr. Layfield is often brought into serious disputes on the eve of trial and has been successful in obtaining favorable results on behalf of his clients. Since 2011, Mr. Layfield has obtained summary judgment on behalf of a developer resulting in a $5 million award, obtained a seven figure judgment against the 3rd largest law firm in China stemming from fraud allegations, obtained a confidential settlement in an assault case against Mike Tyson (the former heavyweight champion of the world), and obtained a large settlement against the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Mr. Layfield is ready, able, and willing to become involved in any dispute where consumers have been harmed financially or injured physically and feel like they are outmatched.

Mr. Layfield supervises a team of attorneys at the firm and acts as lead trial counsel on most matters at the firm. Mr. Layfield is scheduled to participate in 11 jury trials in 2012 alone. Mr. Layfield has a B.S. (Finance) from The University of Arizona, a JD from University of San Diego School of Law, and an LL.M. from The Georgetown University Law Center. In addition to his license to practice law, he hold a CPA (inactive) license in California as well as a real estate broker license. Mr. Layfield also continues to build his trial skills through Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College.

Mr. Layfield believes in building strong communities and even stronger families. He is an active participant in community events and donates extensively to his community.
